Besides generic Chinese bottom brackets, the Raceface Cinch BSA 30mm bottom bracket is the most affordable unit we sell. Just because it’s affordable doesn’t mean it’s junk though. Standard sealed bearings with an additional wiper seal help keep the elements out. You can repack the bearings and replace them with some patience and a bearing puller. Those are all hallmarks of nicer units. If you were to upgrade to a White Industries or Wheels Manufacturing unit, you’d be gaining two things: US manufacture and angular contact bearings. Both of these are good things, but if it’s down to a nicer bottom bracket or a nicer set of brakes, do the brakes.
The Cinch BB comes with a plastic ‘weather’ protection sleeve. Feel free to toss that. We find they can harbor moisture, ironically.
You can use the Raceface Cinch 30mm BB on any 68 or 73mm BSA bottom bracket, and with any 30mm BSA cranks, like White Industries, Ingrid, Raceface 30mm, Ignite, etc.
